Want something 3D Printed at Union Hall?
Your Coworking membership to Union Hall gets you access to the 3D printers located in Cintrifuse’s back offices. There, the 3 Dremel Digilab 3D45 printers can help you turn an idea into reality, make a neat gift for family or friends, or print a trinket for your desk! The printers print nearly any common engineering grade 3D Printing plastic up to 10in x 6in x 7in. By default, your request will be printed in PLA. If you need other options like PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, or Woodfill, please contact us please indicate so in your Job Request (Step 4 below).
Step 1 Sign In & Sign Up
Go to Polar3D.com and sign in using Google, Microsoft, or one of the other Social Providers.
Step 2 Join “Union Hall Academy”
Click Connect > Schools and then enter Join Code JTFWNHRE to get the access necessary to submit your object for printing.
Step 3 Upload .STL Object You Want to Print
Whether you’ve designed something in Tinkercad, Fusion360, Onshape, or another program.. or downloaded a design from an online repository like Thingiverse or MyMiniFactory - you’ll need to put that object on the Polar Cloud so you can get it printed. Click UPLOAD from the landing page or go to Explore > Objects if you don’t see it.
Step 4 Create a Request
Go to Make > My Outgoing Requests and click the green “+” button to open a new request. From here, just select the object you upload above in Step 3.
If you have any special requests, leave them in the “Comments” section in the next Job Request popup. Once you click Submit, the object is sent to Print Managers that have been trained to use the 3D printers.
Step 5 Paying for Your Print
Go back to your object (Explore > Objects) and click the “Run Estimator” button. This will give you an estimated cost of the object you’re requesting to print.
Step 6 Making the Donation
Go to Connect > Schools and type in “Union Hall” to find “Union Hall Academy”. Click anywhere in the returned search result to visit Union Hall’s page on the Polar Cloud.
Once there, click “DONATE/SUPPORT” and enter your value found in Step 5 to make a donation to Union Hall for hosting the 3D printers. If your object is very cheap, we respectfully ask that you round up to show support for Union Hall and to cover print time and electricity. The estimator tool only factors in the cost of plastic.
We thank you for using the service and giving 3D printing a try! Your object will be printed and returned to you as fast as possible.
